NIIMBL 2026 eXperience for Educators RFA

The mission of the National Institute for Innovation in Manufacturing Biopharmaceuticals (NIIMBL) is to accelerate biopharmaceutical manufacturing innovation, support the development of standards that enable more efficient and rapid manufacturing capabilities, and educate and train a world-leading biopharmaceutical manufacturing workforce. As part of this mission, the NIIMBL eXperience for Educators is a one- or two-day immersive event designed to introduce K–12 educators and counselors to the biopharmaceutical manufacturing industry. Through hands-on activities, industry engagement, and networking, participants will gain valuable insights into career opportunities and educational pathways for their students.

NIIMBL Faculty Fellows: A Sabbatical and Industry Program

The intent of NIIMBL’s Faculty Fellows program is to create a diverse and engaged community of academics that can work collaboratively and effectively with industry and represent a variety of disciplines, backgrounds, and institutions. NIIMBL Faculty Fellows will gain valuable experience and exposure to state-of-the-art biopharmaceutical manufacturing, learn about real-world industry challenges, seed new industry-academic partnerships, and strengthen the overall member community.


NIIMBL eXperience Program 2026

The NIIMBL eXperience is an inclusive week-long immersion program designed to introduce you to biopharmaceutical careers. Through hands-on learning and personal interactions, you will take away a deep understanding of how the industry and federal agencies work together to develop and manufacture life-saving medicines. Plus, you will gain direct insight into education and training pathways that will help you reach your career goals! Now in its eighth year, the NIIMBL eXperience has helped students begin their career journeys by connecting them to internships at the world’s leading biopharmaceutical manufacturing companies including Merck, Genentech, and Millipore Sigma. The program is open to all college students who are U.S. citizens residing in the United States, completing their first or second year of study, and actively enrolled in a degree program.
